L’articolo, riportato da una pagina di giornale pubblicato l’8 gennaio 2007 e qui riprodotta a scopo documentario e didattico, descrive la realizzazione di diverse costruzioni architettoniche religiose e le vicissitudini riguardanti la Comunità cristiana a Polesella e Raccano nel corso dei secoli (dal 1500 ai giorni nostri). In particolare, al posto dell’odierno palazzo municipale di Polesella, dal 1728 al 1772, è esistito un convento, residenza degli agostiniani, che dapprima erano rimasti nel piccolo convento presso la chiesa di S. Pietro. Del convento, dopo l’alluvione del 1951, ora non c’è più traccia.
A Raccano venne invece costruita la Chiesa della Natività di Maria, che nonostante la necessità di adattamenti e ristrutturazioni è ancora presente. Durante il secolo XVIII venne però costruita un’altra chiesa dedicata alla Madonna del Rosario che divenne la nuova sede parrocchiale.
È curioso evidenziare il fatto che al giorno d’oggi la parrocchia è divisa dalla piazza, a Polesella, in seguito a delle incomprensioni tra le famiglie dominanti in paese. Superata questa fase, dallo scorso secolo in poi, l’interesse della popolazione e della stessa comunità ha portato alla realizzazione di strutture ancora presenti ai giorni d’oggi.

The article, extract of a newspaper published on January 8, 2007, describes the realization of various religious buildings and historical facts of the christian community in Polesella and Raccano over the centuries (1.500 till now). Especially the buildiung of the present city hall from 1728 to 1772 has been a convent, residence of Augustinian monks who formerly lived in a little convent near S. Pietro church. After the flood in 1951 there’s nothing left of the convent.
In Raccano on the other hand, was built the Nativity of Mary’s church which despite of the necessity of renovations and adjustments is still there. During the XVIII century was built another church, devoted to the Madonna of the Rosary that became the new parish church.
It’s interesting to highlight the fact that nowadays the parish is detached from Polesella’s main square after some misunderstandings between the dominant families of the village. Once this period was surpassed, from the last century onwards, the interest of the people and of the community brought to the realization of structures that are still in site today.
